This policy will explain how Data To The People uses the personal data we collect from client organisations and their employees when they use our website and online survey mechanisms, specifically regarding the following topics:

Data Retention
We will retain your information for as long as we are engaged to provide services to the client organisation, as well as an additional 30 days. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
 

Use of Data
Any information shared with Data To The People, the survey administrator, during the completion of a survey is owned solely by the client organisation requesting the survey. By the nature of how our service works, surveys need to be shared via a URL on the Internet. We provide the option to password-protect your surveys if they contain sensitive content. Email addresses uploaded to the system for the purpose of sending survey invitations and email communication are owned solely by the client organisation requesting the survey.
 

Sale of Data
Data collected through surveys is owned solely by the client organisation requesting the survey. We will never share any information uploaded to the system with any 3rd parties. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or similar legal process.
 

Contacting Individuals
We will occasionally contact the individuals or client organisation's representatives about the services in which you have expressed interest. These communications are designed to educate our users on the services offered. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option not to receive these types of communications. If you no longer wish to receive our updates, you may opt out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each update email.

 

What are your data protection rights?
Data To The People would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every client organisation and survey participant is entitled to the following: 

  • The right to access - You have the right to request Data To The People for copies of your personal data. We will not charge a fee for this service. 

  • The right to rectification - You have the right to request that Data To The People correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Data To The People to complete information you believe is incomplete. 

  • The right to erasure - You have the right to request that Data To The People erase your personal data, under certain conditions. 

  • The right to restrict processing - You have the right to request that Data To The People restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. 

  • The right to object to processing - You have the right to object to Data To The People's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. 

  • The right to data portability - You have the right to request that Data To The People transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

  • If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.
